PFF, a sister company of Community Solutions for Emergency Services (CSES), has built, and is now operating two fire stations for the Lancashire Combined Fire Authority. In contrast to the situation on most PFI projects, the contract term is for thirty years from the date of operation
The stations, at Hyndburn and Morecombe, have a variety of facilities. At the former these include a fully self contained suite of offices for an Area Command, Fire Safety, four-bay appliance room, support facilities include dormitory and traing facilities, a full sized commercial kitchen, fully equipped fitness room, laundry and drying rooms.
The station at Morecombe is also a four-bay station and includes a self-contained community room amongst its accomodation.
The buildings were completed in 2003 since when, PFF has been providing the FM to the buildings, including furniture, building and equipment maintenance, ground maintenance, health and safety, energy management, cleaning, janitorial duties and security.
