Toby Marden

Senior Development Manager

Appointed: June 2011

Toby joined MSIL in June 2011, shortly after the incorporation of the Bournemouth Development Company and has been working with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council on this platform ever since.

Between 2011 and 2015 he led the successful delivery of The Citrus Building, a residential-led mixed use scheme in the town centre.  This was a great advertisement for public-private partnership working, overcoming significant challenges in the aftermath of the financial crisis, bringing new homes to an area dominated by its night-time economy.

He is currently leading the delivery of 44 apartments at Durley Road, Bournemouth and an employment-led mixed-use scheme in the Lansdowne, Bournemouth, whilst providing support to the wider team on other BDC projects.  To date Bournemouth Development Company has delivered over £70 million of development across 4 projects in the town centre, with a further £12.1 million on site, £150 million due to start on site in 2020 and a further £150 million at pre-planning stage.

Toby is a Chartered Surveyor and has worked in the commercial property sector for the past 25 years.  Prior to joining MSIL, he worked on a number of commercial and mixed-use schemes in Greater London and the Home Counties in both advisory and client-side roles.
