Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) is excited to announce its plans to bring forward c.£650m of development in the Heart of Slough, with urban regeneration specialist, Muse Developments appointed as development manager for the scheme.
The former Thames Valley University land was purchased by Slough Borough Council as part of its regeneration vision for the town and through SUR will deliver a transformational and comprehensive mixed-use development to create a place for people to live, work and do business.
The joint venture, along with Muse, will deliver the North West Quadrant, bringing forward plans to provide 1,400 across a range of tenures, more than 250,000 sq ft of commercial space, 45,000 sq ft of ancillary leisure and retail, alongside 150,000 sq ft of cultural facilities and extensive public realm.
This strategic development will contribute significantly to the ongoing regeneration of the town, will attract inward investment, create thousands of jobs and make a significant contribution to realising the objectives of the council’s 5 Year Plan, including increasing the supply of affordable housing.

The council has made a political commitment to use this to regenerate the town centre and provide the infrastructure we need for the future. The TVU site will be reinvigorated, housing new homes, new offices, shops and leisure facilities, completing the final quadrant of the Heart of Slough – a landmark for our town we can all be proud of. The investment from the council will trigger the largest single local authority regeneration project seen outside of London.”

Masterplan proposals for the site will be developed over the coming months and public consultation is anticipated to take place towards the end of 2020. This development builds on the successful delivery of 15 leisure, education and housing projects in the last three years using SUR’s supply chain which includes Morgan Sindall Group companies.
